How we lose our power
Taken from the www.tut.com web site.
Here are the top 10 ways people give away their power:
1. Asking others what they should do.
2. Thinking God decides who gets what.
3. Worrying about how their dream will come true.
4. Thinking they have dues to pay.
5. Attaching to unimportant details and outcomes.
6. Believing in soul mates.
7. Thinking karma or spiritual contracts are absolute.
8. Fear of anything, especially falling in love.
9. Waiting for their ducks to line up before acting.
10. Choosing to be unhappy.
To be happy or not is always a choice!

Are you listening? Really listening?
I was listening to the song "Send Your Love" by Sting today, and for the first time I paid attention to what the song lyrics were saying. Wow, what a powerful message!
Here are the lyrics for your enjoyment.
[From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/sting-lyrics/send-your-love-lyrics.html ]
Finding the world in the smallness of a grain of sand
And holding infinities in the palm of your hand
And Heaven's realms in the seedlings of this tiny flower
And eternities in the space of a single hour
Send your love into the future
Send your love into the distant dawn
Inside your mind is a relay station
A mission probe into the unknowing
We send a seed to a distant future
Then we can watch the galaxies growing
This ain't no time for doubting your power
This ain't no time for hiding your care
You're climbing down from an ivory tower
You've got a stake in the world we ought to share
You see the stars are moving so slowly
But still the earth is moving so fast
Can't you see the moon is so lonely
She's still trapped in the pain of the past
This is the time of the worlds colliding
This is the time of kingdoms falling
This is the time of the worlds dividing
Time to heed your call
Send your love into the future
Send your precious love into some distant time
And fix that wounded planet with the love of your healing
Send your love
Send your love
There's no religion but sex and music
There's no religion but sound and dancing
There's no religion but line and color
There's no religion but sacred trance
There's no religion but the endless ocean
There's no religion but the moon and stars
There's no religion but time and motion
There's no religion, just tribal scars
Throw a pebble in and watch the ocean
See the ripples vanish in the distance
It's just the same with all the emotions
It's just the same in every instance
There's no religion but the joys of rhythm
There's no religion but the rites of Spring
There's no religion in the path of hate
No prayer but the one I sing
Send your love into the future
Send your precious love into some distant time
And fix that wounded planet with the love of your healing
Send your love
Send your love
There's no religion but sex and music
There's no religion that's right or winning
There's no religion in the path of hatred
Ain't no prayer but the one I'm singing
Send your love
Send your love

What is so different about you lately?
I have gotten that question from many people, and to be honest I do feel different. There have been many people and events that have influenced my life and who I am today. However, upon reflection I can point to one event that forever changed my life, because it changed my perception of it.
You are probably thinking that it was a traumatic and disastrous event, but it wasn't.
It was a past-life regression. Yup, one of those things that you have probably read or heard about where someone hypnotizes you and guides you back in time to an earlier life so that you can recall what happened.
A spiritual teacher who had been coaching me for some time had offered to do this for me, and because I trusted her implicitly I agreed to submit myself to the experience. Even though she had my trust I was still somewhat apprehensive, not liking the idea of being "hypnotized". I quote the word for emphasis because now I understand that hypnosis is not about losing control. It is about allowing suggestions to guide you towards a realization. No one can tell you a lie and make you believe it because you are in a hypnotic state. Only Hollywood movies do that.
Anyhow, the past-life regression (or PLR) was just a vehicle to carry me towards my realization of parts of myself. The change of perception about all of life came afterwards. It came because I realized that my beliefs about life, and more importantly death, were completely based on what society has led me to believe.
Death in today's society is synonymous with extinction in the minds of most people. Society says that "You only have one life to live", and that "Life is not a dress-rehearsal".
However, once I realized that I had lived many times before there was no reason to believe that I wouldn't live countless more lifetimes.
Think about that for a moment. Really think about what that means.
I am an eternal and immortal being in the spiritual sense. Therefore "death" as I had come to know it from society's definition did not exist.
I am no different from anyone else on the planet. So the same conclusion must apply to you as well. This means that we have all been lied to by any faith, religion or society that we have ever been involved with.
When a foundational belief about death changes, then the feelings, emotions, and thoughts that were based on that belief must also change.
So, to finally answer the original question, here is a short list of some of thoughts that have changed for me, and as a result I have become a different person.
- We are all here to fulfill an agenda, a sort of list of contracts. Most of us do not know what our contracts are, but if we follow our inner voice then we usually do the right thing. When our contracts have been fulfilled, we "graduate" to another set of contracts. This "graduation" is death. We return home to plan our next visit to Earth (or maybe somewhere else?).
- There is no such thing as a cruel and uncaring God. Since we are all reborn into an infinite number of lifetimes, all of what we perceive as suffering and tragedy is actually not that at all. Every misery that we suffer is actually a lesson to further us on our path of spiritual evolution. I am not suggesting that as a result of this belief that I have become uncaring or unsympathetic to the situations that I see around me. Instead, I have realized that attaching to drama only creates more drama. Rather, I recognize the drama for what it is, bless whoever is involved with the hope that they will find the highest good in the situation for all involved, and then I move on.
- I do not ever have to be afraid ever again. Since my spirit is immortal, nothing that happens to me is ever lost or forgotten. In a true sense, no ever ever "really" gets hurt in any way. See the point above if this is not entirely clear.
- I have realized that what you focus on grows, and what you ignore fades away.
I hope that my ramblings have somehow served to answer the question, and that my discoveries may help you in some way. May the creator of all that is bless you with joy and peace!

Projection
In the field of Freudian psychology there is a well known principle called projection. It is defined by Wade Tavris (Wade, Tavris "Psychology" Sixth Edition Prentice Hall 2000 ISBN 0-321-04931-4) as follows:
"Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person unconsciously denies their own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, such as to the weather, or to other people. Thus, it involves imagining or projecting that others have those feelings."
We experience or witness projection in action every day. People blame their lateness on someone else in traffic, etc.
It is a defense mechanism that protects us from ourselves - from thoughts and feelings that we would consider distasteful, or otherwise uncomfortable.
I prefer to look at projection in another way. Consider for a moment the concept that everything that happens in the outside world first must occur within a person. It is the person that manifests thoughts, feelings, and emotions based on their beliefs. This is all in relation to some desire of that person, such as the desire to survive, or the desire to be accepted and loved, and so on.
With that as a model, then are we not all projectors, projecting outward onto others who serve as projection screens for us? We project our insides onto something external, in my example another person, in an attempt to see ourselves better. If we view projection from that perspective, then our interactions with others would change quit a bit.
If you think of a many-faceted diamond as the lens through which you project your thoughts and desires, where each facet creates part of a unique puzzle piece in a three-dimensional whole, then you may start to picture what I am proposing (no pun intended).
We would realize that everything that we see and experience is but a facet of ourselves for us to appreciate and discover in greater detail.

Here is some Kryon wisdom in parable form. Enjoy!
THE BIG FUZZY CATERPILLAR
"The spirit of the forest is evil!" proclaimed the
caterpillar to his followers. "He wants to trick us
into a very dark place where we will surely die. He
wants us to believe that our own bodies will somehow
turn us into flying caterpillars - all we have to do
is stop eating for a few months!" Great laughter
ensued at this remark.
"Common sense and history will show you how the great
Earth spirit has always worked," continued the
caterpillar. "No good spirit will ever take you to a
dark place! No good spirit will ask you to do some-
thing so Godlike by yourself! These are all tricks of
the great evil forest spirit." The caterpillar
swelled up in self-importance, ready for the next
comment. "I have met with the evil one and have
recognized him!" The other caterpillars went wild
with approval at this remark, and they carried the big
fuzzy one on their smaller fuzzy backs in circles
while they gave him praise for saving them from a
certain death.
..........
We leave this festival of caterpillars and gently
move up through the forest. As the commotion below
begins to fade from our ears, we pass through the
canopy of leaves that shields the bottom of the
forest from sunlight. We gently move up through the
darkness of the leaves into the area reserved for
those who can fly. Even as the din of celebrating
caterpillars is gradually lost to our ears, we
experience the grandness of the winged ones. Flitting
from tree to tree in the bright sunlight are multi-
tudes of gloriously colored free-flying caterpillars
called butterflies, each one decked in the splendor
of rainbow colors, some that were even former friends
of the big, fuzzy, dark one below - each one with a
smile and plenty to eat - each one transformed by the
gift from the spirit of the Forest.

Perception is everything...

Life is waiting for you...
waiting for you to give it direction, give it meaning, and provide just a spark. When acting in line with your dreams, you invoke life's inviolate principles, you set into motion an array of unseen forces, and you unleash the magic behind the illusions of time and space. It's the same magic that helps you finish a sentence before you even know how it'll end, knows just how fast to beat your heart, and spins your dreams each and every night. It's also the magic that sweeps birds into formation, sends bears into hibernation and bees after honey, and pushes up trees and all things green. This is the magic you invoke when you act with certainty and the magic that makes dreams come true; all that's needed to get the ball rolling is for you to aim and throw. And like a boomerang, your intentions - supported by your thoughts, deeds, and words - will indeed return to you, manifested within space and time.

Pretty nice, huh? Well that's not me, that's Mike Dooley from his latest book entitled "Infinite Possibilities; The Art of Living Your Dreams". I started reading it a few days ago, and I think it's great. Check it out, you might like it.
